In the heart of Ontario, Canada, about due east of Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, you will come to the home of Louie's Outpost & Timber Wolf Air. Blind River, Ontario is where they call home. Bowhuntinginfo staff, Mark Morgan and Bob and Skip Baldwin have all hunted with Louie.

The three of us booked a Moose hunt with Louie a few years back. Although we we not successful in our quest for the monster of the north, we couldn't fault the outfitters. One or more of us have attempted to rebook a moose trip with Louie, but due to limited permits we have been unable to accomplish another hunt.

Our hunt was purely a drop camp hunt. We hunted one of the boat in Cabins on Rocky lake a few hours north of Blind River. The Cabin was spacious, and came with propane stove and refrigerator, and generously supplied with wood for heating the cabin. In spite of our "out of the way" hunt, Louie was careful to make sure we had all we needed, including advice, and went above and beyond the call of duty to spend a couple of days with us guiding.

But Louie's first love is bear hunting. Louie's Outpost, boasts numerous options for their hunts. Their speciality is black bear. Hunters can book hunts that will be based out of Blind River with all the comforts of home, or hunters can opt for two boat-in cabins, or several fly in hunts. 

Mark Morgan, has booked several bear hunts with Louie, and his most recent hunt showed a three for three success ratio (see Panda's hunt) including Marks 16 year old daughter.

Bob Baldwin has also hunted bear a number of times with Louie.  We have hunted out of the base camp, and tried the fly in camp as well.  We have never failed to see bear!
