Chic Magnet

Chic Magnet can be planted alone, blended with other seeds or over seeded to provide additional attractiveness to an existing food plot as well as drought resistance.

"CHIC” MAGNET features WINA 100 Brand Chicory, the same chicory included in Imperial Chicory Plus, Imperial Alfa-Rack Plus and Imperial Extreme.  It is now available by itself.  WINA-100 Brand Chicory is specially selected for whitetail food plots in climates where periodic heat and drought of late summer and early fall may slow production of other forages.

Chicory Plus

Chicory Plus is a premium food plot planting which combines the high-protein attractiveness of Imperial Clover and the added benefits of our exclusive WINA-100 Chicory. Chicory Plus is specifically engineered for climates where sweltering summer heat and extended summer drought can slow clover production. Whitetail Institute’s WINA-100 Perennial Forage Chicory was developed for whitetail deer and provides maximum protein.

It is much more attractive to deer than traditional chicory plantings which can be stemmy and waxy. Chicory Plus gives you maximum deer attraction and antler-growing protein even in extreme summer conditions.

WINA-100 has a softer texture and less-waxy leaves than traditional chicory which makes it more attractive and palatable to whitetail deer. Combine this with the #1 food plot planting of all time, Imperial Whitetail Clover, and you have a high-protein deer-attracting powerhouse of a food plot!

Chicory Plus is recommended for planting in slightly well-drained soils to heavier soils that hold moisture. It can be planted in the spring or fall in most areas, and it can last three to five years with a single planting.

Clover

Imperial Whitetail Clover was introduced in 1988 and is the gold standard in the food plot industry. One of the first questions we were asked in the early years was, “What is the difference between Imperial Whitetail Clover and regular clover?” It’s a good question, since other kinds of clover like red clover have been used for years in agricultural applications and in many cases planted for deer. It’s all about the science.

While most food plot blends have a picture of a deer on the package, the seed inside is often just another clover seed. Whitetail Institute wasn’t happy with what was available on the market, so we bred our own varieties of seed.  Imperial Whitetail Clover was the brainchild of

Whitetail Institute Founder, Ray Scott, and the Institute’s first Director of Forage Research, Dr. Wiley Johnson. Dr. Johnson began the Institute’s quest to develop the perfect clover for whitetail food plots by identifying specific traits that would make the new clover variety ideal for whitetail deer. These traits included attractiveness to whitetails, high nutritional content and year-around availability as well as early plant vigor, drought and heat resistance, cold tolerance and disease resistance.

Double-Cross

Double-Cross provides the best of both worlds, combining Imperial Whitetail Clover with the Whitetail Institute’s fast growing annual brassicas.

It’s hard to improve on the best clover on the market so we decided to compliment it by adding a unique brassica to the mix to provide a food plot that many consider second to none.  Whitetail Institute’s Double-Cross is a blend of Imperial Whitetail Clover and Whitetail Institute’s Forage Brassicas.  Together they provide deer with a high quality food source throughout the year.

Extreme

Whitetail Institute’s new Extreme is the result of years of searching and research, painstaking selections and careful blending of seeds with one goal in mind: offering a seed blend that can handle extreme conditions.  Extreme can withstand a pH range of 5.4 to 7.5 and requires a minimum of fifteen inches of rainfall.  It is remarkably heat-resistant and cold-tolerant.  It’s a tough product for extreme conditions.

Extreme provides a high-quality, protein-rich food source year round.  The high protein provided by Extreme can help produce an overall healthier herd. High protein availability in the spring and summer is also crucial for producing better quality antlers on your bucks.

Just as important, deer are incredibly attracted to Extreme.  Actually field testers across the U.S report, Extreme’s attractiveness rivals that of the legendary Imperial Whitetail Clover.
